Hey sherwin really glad to have you in NSW2 previously! You were such a blessing to the group man, with your occasional randomness helps to stir up atmosphere in the group and makes the whole group laugh like crazy. We spent amazing times together then talking about anything and everthing, (dunno how we talked about running marathon with 2 bowling balls...) Those moments were really memorable, apart from some of the gayness you displayed to me were traumatizing... Haha just joking la!

Really happy to declare you as another proud product of the ns ministry! Your life has really changed since you first come to know God. Very encouraged when I hear about you asking questions about Christianity and how you eventually give more time to God and God's family. Also seen how you want to help extend the Kingdom of God in outreach together with Guofeng in stagmont. May you really grow in God more in the years to come and be a great blessing to the whatever community God places you in! God bless! (:

Remember the 1st time we met during one of our midweek fellowships at LOT 1? i was so amazed at your thirst and hunger for things of god when you were such a new believer then.. asking me and guofeng so many questions that day.. it was so amazing that day cos i took cab there and was complaining to god what He wanted me to do at CCK when my camp is at Changi!!! and there u're the answer!

so glad you stayed strong from then till now! btw i believe this is your 1st birthday spent in church rite? as u grow older this year, look back at how god had shaped your past year to make you jus the kind of person for the best of plans He had for you! well i looked back at my past 4 years spent with God and i must say that God is really great and every year He spent with me, He made it a point not just to make it a smashing great time but also a year that's filled with meaningful spiritual growth.. Every church camp god never failed to remind me of how He had changed me to become the person He wanted me to be since the last church camp.. I think the most exciting thing God's gonna do next year in both your life and mine is that we're gonna rock NTU!!! No one in NTU's gonna come out spiritually dead yea!?! Amen!?

okay i hope this gets posted in time, coz i'm beating the clock, but anyway HI SURE-WIN! woww you're 21! i'll always remember you as the one who looks like a small boy (a stark contrast from your actual age now) who wore the red AIG long sleeved top from that time we had that "unit" amazing race thing at the esplanade! though i'd met you before that at the uni dinner, i didn't really remember much of you, except that you were a bit strange. hoho. not that you are, but you did seem strange. i'll also remember you as the seemingly hyperactive one who is very very very very strong! i was, to be honest, quite amazed that you could carry my 10,000kg backpack AND run up the stairs (like zxomg). and i am very thankful that you were nice enough to carry it throughout the entire time! :)

thank you for being so hyperrr during cg, coz it really livens up the atmosphere! the silly things that you say and the jokes you crack (though sometimes i don't quite get it) are just enough to liven up my day, especially if i have been sleep deprived. it's evident that your joy is really contagious, and thank God for that! thank you for making this transition period a much easier one than it could have been.

i pray that you continue to grow in Christ; to grow closer and closer to Him everyday. the later months ahead may bring challenges as we move into uni life but i hope in the Lord that you overcome them and become strong and victorious!

(the one that equals HAPPY!)

yes it's your supersmile that makes you stand out. you could very well be a model for a toothpaste advert if only there weren't so many better-looking pple out there haha :P . but your joy in God is so evident in the way you carry yourself in action and speech! you are the very epitome of 1thes 5:16 "be joyful always" and you bring so much joy and encouragement to those around you as well.

the first time i talked to you was at the range during BSLC, where i happened to sit beside you. it was kinda impromtu and we clicked cos we talked about track i think. hehs. i still remember your humility as we joked about how you were so far behind Ee Ghim and the other super-trackers in that 5000m nationals. LOL. hey bro, talking to you recently, i can still see that humility and simple faith in you. it's so comforting to see a fellow brother like you choosing to put others before yourself. as you continue to serve and love God in the tertiary ministry, remember that it's always God and His people that we work so hard for. this is your race, run it God's way!

thank you for sharing your photos with us too when we were on the cab. for me, that was probably the first time i got to know more about you other than simply enjoying your jokes, company and enthusiasm. (eh i haven't finished looking at them yet!)

Yo Bomberman! Still sprinting with ur bowling balls lately? XD Anyways,i just wanna say that Sherwin is a really great brother,albeit a gay one,but nonetheless...a great gay! =P He is a pretty interesting signalman from slackmont camp,even if it means wearing a hairband (thankfully not a pinky one with flowery gay patterns) and he's reputation as bomberman(albeit a gay one) would give the EOD a run for their lives(eh,heard that Ching Wee?That means YOU! XP) even though for him,being a bomberman is actually just sprinting with bowling balls,really cute ^_^! Anyways,u know that God hates sins but loves sinners right? in the same way,i hate the hairband but i love the hairband wearer XP! Sherwin is just such a cute,lovable guy,thinking of him just turns me on the way Jun Liang does. Haha...

Well, it's been really great to have u in our caregroup and it's been a real honor serving with u in the NS ministry.Regardless of wat we achieved or failed to achieve in those 2 yrs serving God while serving the nation, i'm sure we had a smashing good time and with God at the centre of our fellowship,and that's the way this brethren of soldiers should be! Continue to use the experiences u gained from the ns ministry and watever u've learnt thus far for the good of the kingdom wherever He sends u to! and continue to learn and gain more experiences while walking closer with Him. anyways, really look forward to fighting the good fight and finishing the race with u(though u'd probably finish the race first given ur 'sprinting bomberman skill'!....ok,nvm XP).
And i pray that u'll rise up to be a leader in His kingdom....and lead ur own legion of bombermans to victory!Muahahaha!!!!

i think cross country runners have quite a personal understanding of the christian life. both are about dealing with one uphill at a time, enjoying every downslope you get, focusing on the end point, setting a pace, enjoying the wind, mind over matter, getting rid of stitches, yada yada yada. thankfully in the christian race we run with an infinite God! hahaha. unlimited stamina.

Hi Mr BOMBERMAN,muahahaha,i am really so jealous of you. You get a whole new webpage dedicated online just for your birthday! Woah,have you become so big movie star or olympic finalist lol.

But way big have you become,ever since from that young punk when i first knew you. When God spoke to you in X29,I knew there is no turning back for you man lol. Just one word from God and bang!You have what it is about Sherwin today,someone always looking to put God's kingdom first,be it in his personal life or family. As much as you love running in the physical world, you have ran well for God in the spiritual world,in stagmont camp as well.(I heard everyone hates it when you are the conducting spec) Though this guy is relatively young in faith, he is no push-over in his zeal to know more about the kingdom. Just like the crazy mad-man that sprints at the start of the marathon,Sherwin has been sprinting since the start of his faith to know God more. Always asking questions and seeking advices, he has certainly done well to chart out his race strategies. Keep that spirit up man! One day, you would be an inspirational runner to many who would start out their race in ntu.You would be the one who tell them which direction to run to and I pray that you would not give up right to the very end of the race,of which you should know this concept very well that if you want to give up half-way,you should not even bother starting the race. Lets run alongside in this race for God! That would be as khoo as this:

Oh Btw,have i shared about Sherwin's running strategy? He constantly looks out for people infront of him,then aims to out-run that person and continues doing so until the end of the race!Well,currently,potato is infront of you lol,lets see who is faster k,lol? I hope i don't cause the next shepherd-sheep schism!(and this is a good reason to get your shepherd to start running-for his sake)

Oh,one more thing,Sherwin is really a sunshine boy. Probably, he likes to show off his nice white teeth or he is just training to do those grinning poses those olympic runners give when they are near the finishing line. But man,this guy never fails to be so cheerful and always have a grin as wide as ninja turtles'(LOL) His cheerfulness really brighten up the day for all his cg members,which makes me wonder whether his calling by God is to just keep smiling. I decided to start this post for you by saying "Though I do not really know you that well..." =P

Just kidding!!! =P Hahaha. In this B'day posting, think I really wanna thank God for you and affirm you for your ever positive attitude and optimism towards the things that happen around you. :) It always does the work of helping people to lighten up, not worry too much and even to bring much joy to the people around you. :) I pray that you will continue this optimism as you grow in your confidence and trust in God. :)

Well, I guess that's about all. =P Just kidding again! =P HAHAHAHA. Ok. I think this is probably like one of the lamer postings that you'll see. I sound like I'm just trying to make this posting longer. =P Hahaha.

Also wanna affirm you for your enthusiasm and ever growing desire to learn more about God and to grow in Him especially so that you can answer your friends' queries and to help them to cross the line of faith. :) Continue to grow in your hunger for God yea? Just don't eat me up. =P

After having said all that, may I say this that it really is a fact that I have yet to really serve God with you. Hahaha. But guess what??? I believe there will be plenty of chances in the Uni days to come. And I really really really am looking forward to it!!! ^^ Haha. Really. Especially after both of us shared how we felt that it is really quite a miracle that we even mangaged to get into this course with our (uhum) kinda results, I believe God has sent us there to do something and placed us together as course mates for a reason too. :) Also wanna say that to be able to serve with you in the days to come (I believe) is a blessing and a privilege of mine. :) So let's give our very best in living our lives with God and serving Him in the Uni days ahead yea? :)

How Much Does A Prayer Weigh
Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.
She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.
John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store.
Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can." John told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.
Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family.
The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?" Louise replied, "Yes sir" "O.K." he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries." Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed.
The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it." The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales.
The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer which said: "Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands."
The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store. The customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It was worth every penny of it."
It was sometime later that the grocer discovered the scales were broken; therefore, only God knows how much a prayer weighs.

dear sherwin, i hope that this story will continue to inspire you in your walk with God, and to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. All things are possible through Him, and all it takes is a mustard seed of faith! Remember to seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well! For God has a plan for us all, plans to prosper and not to harm us, plans to give us a hope and a future. Strive forth courageously towards your own destiny, and fret not, for you have a worthy brother here always to walk with you.

we have known each other since days in secondary school and in signal camp. thanks for all the fun, and crazy times in and out of caregroup. haha i don't dispute your love for hairbands, though i cannot totally agree that you are sexier and more metro. hahaha.

And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

As we surpass the milestone that is twenty-one, a thrilling, exciting and enthralling journey awaits us. I can't wait... can you?

hahahaha. i must say you have been a real encouragement to me at times. i admire your fierce courage and faith in wanting to follow God. despite whatever commitments you might have, you never allowed it to be an excuse. you make the necessary arrangements, you do whatever you can just so that you could come for service or cg or whatever strange cg outing tracy/guofeng decides on. you just don't want to miss out on God's blessing.

I really wanna say that you have been a great addition in whatever CG you have been placed in...whether was it in NSW2 during the NS Ministry days or the current CG we have in NYC. Your cheerfulness and enthusiasm has indeed been a great encouragement to me personally and your determination in pressing on in the race will serve to be a great testimony for generations to come. Especially during our last days in Stagmont Camp, your presence in the camp really encourage me a lot as I know that we are serving God alongside each other and I am never alone in the fight to win Stagmont for Jesus!

It's been a great joy to have got to know you as a friend and being able to run this race with you! It's really my pleasure to write you well-wishes lol. Known you since sec 1, cca mates, classmates, bmt platoon mate, safsa teammate, church brothers, i really am blessed to be your old friend.
In sec skool we didn't really like each other, like u said u outcast i ask too many qns. Didn't really like consider you within my social circle although we kind of spent a lot of time together. Very disgusted with ur long small fingernail btw ahha.
So I ceased contact with u after we went out separate ways in jc, but our threads of fate were unknowingly intertwined. Same bmt platoon lol. U were one of few people who offered me friendship after my grave mistake (which made me feel like paul, persecutor of christians) and i really appreciate it. Unknown to both of us god had greater plans for u.
Yea so sometime last year the holy spirit gave me a burden to reach out to you. And it's really fateful. That day there was ns bbq or sumthin but it was my bro bday so i went home to prepare and stuff and I chatted with you online about ur problems. And i followed-up and 3 months later you came! I have never prayed for a single person in a week as many times as I prayed for you.
And the rest is history. I still can remember Qianjin beaming away at you from stage haha.
Although I only got to shepherd you for a very short while, you're someone I really enjoy spending time with. Coz of our long history we could easily identify with each other and there was no need to start from scratch haha. And your accountability is definitely ur strong point. And despite your problems I think you're very teachable, so really, thanks for giving me the opportunity to share life with you.
Hm, I can't say I can picture where you'll be like 10 or 20 years later in your walk with god, but god knows lol. Keep walking steadily, and progressively increase your desire to do great things for him.
Yea, so to sum it up, work hard, run hard, serve hard, and thanks for occasionally being the bright star that lights up my dark sky! Happy bday!
